If one thing is clear, is that the Resident Evil movies have been some of the biggest B-movie blockbusters to have come out of Hollywood, and are also amongst the top-grossing video game movies ever made.
And while it is hard to imagine that movies based on a video game series with little to no plot would end up becoming so popular, the truth is that the Resident Evil movies have quite a following even amongst non-gamers, which is quite a feat.
Those new to the series, however, might be wondering what all the fuss is about, even if they could still be intending to watch director Paul W.S. Anderson’s upcoming instalment of the long-running movie series, which will be hitting theatres this month.
So luckily for Resident Evil newbies Sony Pictures has released a video in which Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich (who at the tender age of 41 is still one of Hollywood’s most attractive leads) explains everything that’s gone on in the five Resident Evil movies released to date.
Suffice to say that the events seen in the movies to date involve a zombie outbreak, secret laboratories, plenty of action and gore, entire cities being nuked and one exciting fight involving heroines Alice and Claire Redfield and one giant hammer-wielding zombie…
So hopefully the upcoming Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will deliver more of the same zombie-blasting action and scares that these movies are renowned for and not end up being a disappointment as other eagerly awaited movies such as Independence Day: Resurgence were last year.
But still, director Paul Anderson has hinted this movie could be the best of the lot, while it’s also likely that this could be a year to remember for fans of the horror franchise as a new game in the series will also be coming out later this month, meaning 2017 could be a big year for Resident Evil fans no doubt.
Note: Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will be released on January 27, 2017 in the US, and February 3 in the UK.
