Sony announced a PS5 Slim console this month, which means the PS5 is getting a slimmer version three years after the launch of the original console. As was the case with the PS4 and PS3, gamers will be able to buy a smaller PS5 this fall. Here follow 5 differences between the PS5 Slim and the original console.
1. Size and weight
When Sony’s PS5 launched back in 2020, some people were up in arms due to the console’s size. And the original PS5 is something of a beast when it comes to size, with the disc version of the console being quite a bit bigger than its rival the Xbox Series X. As expected, Sony is slimming down the PS5 here, reducing volume by more than 30 % and weight by almost a quarter when compared to the launch model, as seen in the comparison image below (via reddit.com).
