Halo Wars was something of a diamond in the rough, as the 2009 real-time strategy game had a pretty good campaign and some cool units that players could command in battle, but was a tad short and only let gamers play as one faction from the Halo universe.

So given how much potential the first game had, it is logical that expectations are sky-high for this sequel which is being developed by 343 Industries and English outfit Creative Assembly. The latter will surely sound familiar to fans of PC strategy games as they are behind the classy Total War series, which includes games like Total War: Shogun 2 and the more recent and highly-acclaimed Total War: Warhammer. So it’s clear this upcoming Halo Wars sequel could be something special, and could prove once and for all that real-time strategy gaming can be fun on consoles too…

Release date: February 21. Available on PS4 and Xbox One.
