4. Mortal Kombat X

Perhaps you remember that in the previous Mortal Kombat game (that would be number 9, for those who like to keep track of numbers) movie star fighter Johnny Cage showed a romantic interest in special ops agent Sonya Blade. Well they hit it off, and their daughter Cassie Cage is one of the new fighters in the upcoming Mortal Kombat X. The game as you might have already guessed takes place after the events of the previous game. Actually 25 years after the previous game, according to the game’s marketing blurb.

And old favourites like Kung Lao will be making a welcome return, although time has taken its toll and Lao is rather old and grayed, but still a mean combatant. And you can expect the game to feature more of those gruesome fatalities that fans of the series have grown to love over the years.
