Dishonored was certainly one of 2012’s highlights, an action-adventure game with a great story, characters and an interesting protagonist with supernatural powers. Because Dishonored’s main character Corvo was a good lead despite the fact that he did not utter a word throughout the entire game, and his face remained hidden behind a mask throughout Dishonored’s story…
But the game’s sequel is looking like it will improve things in this regard, as it will feature two fully-voiced protagonists: Emily Kaldwin and Corvo, who returns from the first game. And while Emily was a girl in distress in the original game whom Corvo had to rescue from a bunch of sadistic conspirators, here she is an ass-kicking lady who is Corvo’s equal.
In the game’s latest trailer (which happens to be a live action one, and follows a great gameplay trailer released at the E3 show) we see the pair take on a series of human and robotic enemies in the employ of villainess Delilah. We also see some of Emily’s and Corvo’s supernatural powers in action, such as the former’s “Domino” power which links enemies together so that all will be affected by attacks on one. Corvo also has his share of tricks too, and is able to teleport on the battlefield, plus he also has conventional weapons like a crossbow at his disposal. Although there’s no doubt that for many players Emily will be the star of the show in this game…
What is clear, though, is that expectations are sky-high for Dishonored 2, and given what a classic its illustrious predecessor is, the game will certainly have a hard time living up to the hype… But here’s hoping Dishonored 2 turns out to be as good as people are expecting when it finally hits the shelves next month.
Note: Dishonored 2 will be released on November 11, 2016. Available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
