PS4 exclusive Ghost of Tsushima is coming in summer 2020

Perhaps one of the most eagerly anticipated PlayStation games right now is Ghost of Tsushima.  Announced at the Paris Games Week show back in 2017, this PS4 exclusive has been years in development now. Despite this, though, not much is known about developer’s Sucker Punch game, and neither did people know when they would be able to get their hands on the Japanese-themed game until now either.

Thankfully, we now know when Ghost of Tsushima is coming out, as in a recent post on the PlayStation Blog, developer Sucker Punch Productions has revealed that the game will be hitting shelves in summer 2020.

And while this is still a long while off, at least Sucker Punch has dropped a trailer showcasing Ghost of Tsushima’s characters and world. The developer has said that this will be a “huge” game, actually the biggest game the studio (which is also behind the Infamous games) has made to date.

Ghost of Tsushima is set during the Mongolian invasion of Japan, and stars a samurai named Jin, who appears in the trailer below. Jin will be fighting the Mongols for survival, adopting a new identity to do so (“The Ghost”), employing tactics and skills different from those of the samurai in order to repel the bloodthirsty invaders.

This will also be an open world game, and despite the novel 13th century Japanese setting, it remains to be seen how well this fares in a video game market already saturated with open world titles.

It would be a good thing, then, if Ghost of Tsushima turned out to be a terrific open world game, something we’ll know for sure when this PS4 exclusive launches next summer.
