1. Hitman
Although some Hitman fans were apprehensive when Danish developer IO Interactive announced that this Hitman game would be an episodic affair, thankfully this 2016 reboot of the long-running series has turned out to be the best Hitman game since 2006’s Blood Money, and a stunning return to form for one of the best-known video game franchises of all time.
This was due to Hitman’s stunning mission settings, ranging from a posh fashion show in a Parisian chateau to an idyllic Italian Mediterranean town, the latter being a perfect holiday location if it wasn’t for the fact that the game’s iconic protagonist was on a mission to assassinate an evil scientist and his research partner in a brilliant level that’s arguably the series’ best. And the variety of ways in which players could take out their targets was certainly stunning, making Hitman a top stealth game and the best video game players could get their hands on in 2016.
