Agent 47’s return is one of the finest stealth and action games in years.

Some Hitman fans were apprehensive when Danish developer IO Interactive announced that their latest Hitman game would be an episodic affair. Thankfully, this 2016 reboot has turned out to be the best Hitman game since 2006’s Blood Money, and a stunning return to form for one of the best-known video game franchises of all time.

This was due to Hitman’s stunning mission settings, ranging from a posh fashion show in a Parisian chateau to an idyllic Italian Mediterranean town. The latter would be a perfect holiday location if it wasn’t for the fact that the game’s iconic protagonist was on a mission to assassinate an evil scientist and his research partner in a brilliant level that’s arguably the series’ best. The variety of ways in which players could take out their targets was certainly stunning too, making Hitman a top stealth game and the best game players could get their hands on in 2016.
