3. Dark Souls III
Although plenty of PC gamers were upset about having missed out on Japanese designer Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Bloodborne, which did not see a release on the platform, at least this PC version of the great Dark Souls III turned out to be a very solid game, and arguably the best version of the lot.
Dark Souls III offered the same level of challenge and punishing difficulty that Miyazaki’s games are famous for, and this was also an unforgettable journey through a dark and twisted world full of terrifying monsters to vanquish and interesting characters to meet. Plus this PC version’s enhanced graphics and support for resolutions beyond 1080p helped make playing Dark Souls III on PC one of the year’s best gaming experiences, no doubt.
