2. Flashback 2

The original Flashback is a gem from the 90’s, one of the best action and adventure games to feature rotocosped animation (yeah, that was a thing back then). So many gamers were on their heels when Paul Cuisset, the creator behind the original game, announced that he was working on a sequel.

But this is not the sequel that fans of the Amiga original were hoping to see, and is one of the most disappointing games of the year. The game brings back amnesiac protagonist Conrad and gives him an AI weapon, but its buggy release and bad design choices spoil the gameplay, doing the game no favors. Also, dull combat and an inconsequential plot mean this does not come close to the legendary original, and is a platform shooter that is best forgotten.
