4. Grim Fandango Remastered

This game has an original story in which protagonist Manny Calavera is an agent of the Department of the Dead, dealing with the new souls that enter the “Land of the Dead” by giving them a means of passage through it into the Land of Eternal Rest. Those who’ve been nice and charitable in their lives might get a ticket for the Number 9, a deluxe train taking them to the Ninth Underworld, while those who led a less than bright existence may have to do with a walking stick… But the plot soon thickens when Manny discovers that there is a corruption plot in the DoD, as the best souls are not getting what they deserve.

Grim Fandango art style truly shines in this remaster, although nostalgic gamers can also switch to the original graphics, and using the PS4’s gamepad to solve the game’s puzzles is certainly an improvement on the original keyboard controls in what no doubt is the best version yet of the classic 1998 adventure game.
