Although game makers NetherRealm Studios are better known for their Mortal Kombat games, they arguably delivered their best game to date with Injustice 2. This is a superhero fighting game that lets you choose from a big roster of DC characters including Batman, Supergirl and Aquaman, and duke it out with a friend or fight against the computer in a variety of gameplay modes.

It is also great that you get to level up and customize your hero throughout the game, altering their appearance and fight style as you choose, while the fighting here is as deep and involved as in any other NetherRealm game to date. There’s also a great story mode to wade through, with the campaign providing plenty of thrills and action and keeping you glued to the screen until the end. This is a fighting game that anyone can enjoy then, and stands tall as one of the best video games released in 2017 thus far.
