Without question, one of the biggest video games coming this year is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. This is not only because the Black Ops games have been quite popular amongst Call of Duty fans over the years, but also because this year’s entry will include a much-hyped battle royale mode as Activision announced this May.
But still, some fans might feel cheated by the fact this year’s Call of Duty will be missing the traditional single player campaign that had become a staple of the franchise over the years, even if this will allow developer Treyarch to focus on improving the other modes and deliver a better all-round multiplayer experience.
And one such mode that could be better than ever this year is Call of Duty’s fan favourite zombies mode, which judging by the trailer below (titled “Blood of the Dead”) could be as exciting as it’s ever been this year.
This will stick to the usual co-op formula seen in earlier entries, and stars classic heroes Nikolai, Takeo, Dempsey and Richtofen in a series of action-packed scenarios. Also, this year’s zombie offering will be bigger than that of previous years, while Activision has also revealed this will have all those Easter eggs players are fond of picking up in Call of Duty zombies too.
So it would be a great thing then, if Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 ends up being another great entry in the series like last year’s Call of Duty: WWII game was, and that the lack of a single player story campaign does not diminish the experience one bit when this latest entry in the series ships later this year.
Note: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12, 2018. Available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
