At the end of the 1983 film The Return of the Jedi, which was the last movie of the original Star Wars trilogy, the Rebels appeared to have won the day by taking out the new Death Star and Luke’s defeat of Darth Vader in a lightsaber duel. But it certainly wasn’t the end of the Empire, as new villain Kylo Ren is out to crush the Rebellion now led by General Leia (Carrie Fisher).

And Kylo Ren appears to be as evil and ruthless a villain as Darth Vader ever was, even vowing to finish what the Dark Lord of the Sith started. He is seen attacking the heroes Rey and Finn with his sword-shaped lightsaber and also dealing with a prisoner in a brutal way using his dark side powers. The villain also appears to have a new, devastating weapon at his disposal which is used to blast a forest to oblivion in the movie’s official trailer. So it is clear that the dark side will be as strong as ever in The Force Awakens, hopefully making for an even more dramatic and entertaining movie.
