This entry in the Call of Duty franchise surprised many in late 2015 due to its wealth of features and gameplay modes. Actually, Black Ops III likely has more content than any other Call of Duty game to date. For starters, it featured a chunky single player campaign, which was appealing despite all the technological mumbo-jumbo that developer Treyarch cooked up for it (nanotech and even mind control feature abundantly in this Call of Duty game…)

The main campaign could also be played cooperatively with up to four friends, plus its “Nightmare” mode surely was a welcome addition, letting you revisit the campaign in a zombie setting. And speaking of zombies, the Call of Duty staple was back here with a 40’s film noir setting. This featured four original characters to take control of, including a crazy magician played by actor Jeff Goldblum.

The multiplayer was also top-notch, with Activision adding Specialists to the mix here, which were soldier characters with their own specific weapons and special abilities. Overall, this Call of Duty sure took the franchise to new heights, and is one of the best first-person action games available for the PS4 right now.
