Xbox One S vs PS4 Slim: which is the better console?

3. Design and aesthetics

When both new-gen consoles launched in late 2013, some took to calling the Xbox One an “ugly duckling”, and also pointed out that Microsoft’s console looked like one of those old VHS video players… And clearly Sony’s PS4 had the upper hand when it came to aesthetics, with its sleek lines and slanted front, while it was also less bulky and quite a bit lighter than the Xbox One.

But now in 2016 things cannot be more different, as Microsoft’s Xbox One S features an attractive new design meaning it’s now an impressive-looking contender. And the truth is that the S does look like a smart electronics device, while the PS4 Slim, even if it still is smaller and lighter than Microsoft’s console, lost the sharp edges and cool-looking buttons of the original (and is a more functional-looking device), meaning the Xbox One S does have the upper hand in this department.

WINNER: Xbox One S
