The first game of the Mass Effect series is regarded by many as a classic due to its big sci-fi world, mission variety and great characters including, of course, protagonist Commander Shepard. Mass Effect allows players to choose the protagonist’s gender, and one interesting feature of the game is how players could form romantic relationships with their crew members over the course of the game.

And it was even possible to get it on with a female alien when playing a female Commander Shepard, something that the authorities in Singapore initially objected to, leading to the game being banned in the country. This was before Singapore had any sort of video game classification system in place though, and thankfully the country’s censors eventually lifted the ban and gave the game a “M18” rating, allowing Mass Effect to be sold in the Asian country.
