If one thing is clear, is that Mortal Kombat 11 is one of the most eagerly anticipated games of the year, being the next instalment of a fighting series which debuted in 1992.
And like other games such as Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat 11 has its share of iconic characters. Many of these will be returning in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11, including cocky martial artist Johnny Cage and old stalwart Sonya Blade.
Also, a recent TV spot confirmed that fan-favourite character Kitana is returning to the fold. As fans know, she’s the Princess of Outworld and daughter of baddie Shao Kahn, and someone who judging by the trailer below can duke it out with the best of them too…
Actually, the trailer shows Kitana taking on D’Vorah – an insect-like character who made her debut in the previous instalment in the series – and shows how deadly Kitana can be in combat, using her steel fans and knives to slice and dice the opposition.
We also get to see Kitana’s Fatality in this trailer, a gruesome finisher in which she uses her steel fans to make mincemeat of her opponent. This definitely highlights the fact that Mortal Kombat 11 looks likely to be the most violent entry in the series to date – a plus for those who are into the series’ gore, not so much for those who already thought that Mortal Kombat was violent enough.
Either way, it would surely be great if Mortal Kombat 11 lives up to the series best entries when it hits shelves, something we’ll discover soon enough when Warner Bros.’ fighting game launches next week.
Note: Mortal Kombat 11 will be released on April 23, 2019. Available on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
