The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine launch trailer shows Toussaint’s dark side

Perhaps one of the most noteworthy things about the upcoming Blood and Wine expansion for last year’s top-rated video game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is that it is set in an entirely new region named Toussaint. And while an earlier trailer showed the beauty of this new region, and the happy lives of its carefree population, this one focuses more on the dark presence threatening this seemingly peaceful medieval fantasy region…

So it’s a good thing for Toussaint’s citizens that Geralt the witcher is visiting the region, as the man known as the “White Wolf” proved in the The Witcher 3’s quests that he’s surely one of the best monster hunters there is in the game’s fantasy world of Temeria.

This launch trailer for the Blood and Wine expansion comes in the wake of developer CD Projekt Red’s recent patch for the main game, which amongst other things refined the game’s user interface (the small text size in some of the game’s screens was a common complaint) and also fixed some glitches like an issue “whereby Geralt’s clothing was not properly restored after sex scenes”.

And it remains to be see whether Geralt will live up to his ladies’ man reputation in this expansion for The Witcher 3, but it is likely the grizzled Geralt will get to score with the ladies more than once in his final adventure… And this is almost certainly protagonist Geralt of Rivia’s final adventure before he hangs his boots for good, although luckily for Witcher fans early review scores suggest Blood and Wine is a great expansion and indeed a worthy conclusion to one of the best role-playing games in recent memory.

Note: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine was released on May 31, 2016. Available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
