These are the games Sony will showcase at E3 2018

As this year’s E3 show is fast approaching, many gamers are eager to find out which games we’ll get to see more of at what undoubtedly is the biggest video game show on Earth.

One major company has already revealed the games it will be focusing on at this year’s E3, with Sony executive Shawn Layden saying in a recent PlayStation Blogcast (via GameSpot) that Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding and The Last of Us Part II will feature prominently at this year’s E3 in June.

Of course, Sony is not limiting itself to the heavyweights only, and some Sony-published indie games will be getting attention too, while there will also be announcements of other third-party games too.

Sadly, though, those hoping for Sony to reveal something about PlayStation 5, the company’s purported follow up to their already hugely successful PS4, will be disappointed. This is because Sony Interactive Entertainment’s chairman made it clear the Japanese company won’t be announcing any new hardware at E3.

But still, it’s great we will be getting updates on games like The Last of Us Part II, a game which at this point likely is one of the most eagerly anticipated of all time. This means fans will love to get a progress report from developer Naughty Dog on the game, as we’ve heard little from this upcoming zombie game since last year’s violent trailer was released.

Also, it will be great to get an update on Death Stranding, another game the designers have kept tight-lipped about since last December when Hideo Kojima and his team put out a rather creepy trailer for the game.

Then there’s Ghost of Tsushima, an open world game set in feudal Japan during the Mongol invasion, a video game which could turn out to be one of the most interesting PS4 exclusives in years. This is surely a title anyone with an interest in samurai games (me included) will be looking forward to seeing more of at this year’s E3 no doubt.

Of course, both The Last of Us Part II and Death Stranding are not scheduled for release in 2018, while there’s a chance Ghost of Tsushima might not end up hitting shelves this year either.

Thankfully, one of the major Sony exclusives featuring at this year’s E3 will be released for sure this year, though. This is Marvel’s Spider-Man, one of 2018’s most hotly anticipated games, so it will definitely be great to see more of the superhero game during Sony’s presentation at E3 2018.

And clearly this will be a show to look forward to, given that many high-profile games coming out in 2018, including the new Call of Duty and Battlefield games, will be on show too, meaning this is an E3 many will be looking forward to no doubt.
