It can’t be argued that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the best sword and sorcery games of all time. But it seems that CD Projekt Red, the Polish studio behind the game, are looking to outdo themselves with The Witcher 4, a sequel to their dark fantasy RPG from 2015. Gone is protagonist Geralt of Rivia, who is replaced by Ciri, a female witcher who can go toe to toe with the most horrid monsters out there.
The impressive cinematic trailer below shows Ciri arriving at a village where a girl has been chosen for a ritual sacrifice involving said monster. Ciri fights the monster in a dark cave using her sword and witcher powers, this being one of the top previews seen at the Game Awards no doubt.
