3. Dying Light: The Beast

It’s hard to envy Dying Light: The Beast’s protagonist. Imprisoned after a virus outbreak, he is experimented on for more than a decade, but after breaking out he’s now looking to get even with his captor and enemy. This is a cold, deluded scientist known as “the Baron”, who’s showcased in the Game Awards 2024 trailer below.

Playing as protagonist Kyle Crane, you get to fight zombies using a variety of weapons, including a flame thrower, and ride vehicles such as a 4×4. Like the previous games in the series, this also lets players parkour their way through its open-world setting of Castor Woods, which features a variety of locations such as swamp. Meanwhile protagonist Kyle Crane will have beast-like powers in this Dying Light spin-off, which is arriving in summer 2025.
