4. Horizon: Zero Dawn

Much has been made of Guerrilla Games’ Horizon: Zero Dawn, an upcoming open world game set in a post-apocalyptic world that’s without a doubt one of the most eagerly awaited video games releasing next year. And judging by what we have seen of the game thus far, it looks like Horizon: Zero Dawn will play like a sci-fi version of Ubisoft’s Far Cry Primal, as it features humans living in hunter-gatherer tribes and primitive weaponry like bows.

But this is also a sci-fi world dominated by huge mechanical beasts that protagonist Aloy will get to hunt in the game and can also scavenge for parts to improve her gear. Plus the game will feature plenty of questing as is customary in open world games of this ilk, and hopefully Killzone makers Guerrilla Games will manage to deliver a great game come Horizon: Zero Dawn’s release date next year.

Release date: February 28, 2017.
