2. The Walking Dead – Season 2

Clementine was now the protagonist in season 2 of The Walking Dead.

The first season of the episodic adventure game The Walking Dead by Telltale Games was a smash hit, and surely one of the best games of 2012. It had great choice and consequence gameplay, as players’ actions in the game and conversation responses would have repercussions later on, and a story featuring great characters like protagonist Lee Everett and girl in distress Clementine.

And what’s great about season 2 of this video game series is that Clementine is now the protagonist and a strong-willed leader who has to deal with both the zombie horde and hostile humans in a world that has been turned inside out by the zombie apocalypse… Season 2 of The Walking Dead certainly managed to live up to the first, with more great characters like Russian antagonist Arvo, great moral choices and atmosphere, plus Clementine is no doubt one of the best protagonists we’ve seen in a video game to date.
