A new sci-fi setting

Despite earlier games like Call of Duty: Ghosts featuring an action sequence that took place in space, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be the first Call of Duty game to take the sci-fi route and go for a Halo-style setting.

This is a far cry from the series’ World War 2 roots, and it means the game will likely feature action sequences set on space stations and the kind of sci-fi weaponry we haven’t got to play with in the series yet, making for some pretty exciting action both in single player and multiplayer matches. And hopefully the game’s single player campaign will be an epic and exciting affair worthy of the new space setting…

Spaceship combat

For starters, the trailer shows that this upcoming Call of Duty game will feature space combat for the first time in the franchise, with players getting to take part in large space battles similar to those seen in sci-fi movies like Star Wars, which will likely be a welcome addition to the series gameplay. Aside from the space combat, a space vehicle similar to the Mako seen in the Mass Effect games also appears in the trailer, so perhaps players will get to pilot some futuristic vehicles in this upcoming Call of Duty game too.
