4. Wreck-It Ralph (2012)

Wreck-It Ralph is certainly one of Walt Disney’s best animated features in years. It stars the eponymous Ralph, a video game character longing for a change in his life. You see, Wreck-It Ralph is the villain of an arcade video game who is routinely defeated by good guy Fix-It Felix Jr., so he desires to join the roster of good video game characters instead.

Ralph expresses his intentions in a hilarious video game meeting led by Pac-Man ghost Clyde, which is also attended by other bad guys like Street Fighter’s Bison, amongst others. After escaping his native video game, Ralph gets to meet charismatic female character Vanellope von Schweetz, leading to plenty of action-packed and colourful sequences. There’s also an exhilarating car chase sequence, in what surely is one of the best animated comedy films of recent times.
