The Hitman games have garnered a following worldwide due to their intense stealth and action gameplay, so it’s likely fans are anxiously waiting to get their hands on the upcoming Hitman 2.
This is a sequel to the 2016 Hitman game (and therefore should not to be confused with 2002’s Hitman 2: Silent Assassin). Judging by the trailers and previews we have seen thus far, this is likely to offer the same winning mix of stealth and action which has bewitched series fans to date.
And those who have Hitman 2 on their wish list of games for 2018 will be happy to hear that the game has now gone gold, as was recently announced by Danish dev IO Interactive.
This means that IO is done developing the game for now and a master copy has been submitted to the presses for duplication, meaning Blu-ray copies of Hitman 2 will now start shipping to retailers ahead of the game’s release this fall.
It remains to be seen though, whether Hitman 2 can reach the heights of IO’s 2016 game, arguably the top Hitman game to date. This is because Hitman 2016 had an impressive variety of locations and some of the best sandbox gameplay we have seen to date, but hopefully this upcoming sequel will offer a comparable experience, actually some of the levels we have seen thus far such as a race track in Miami and a Colombian jungle do look great.
It would be a great thing though, if Hitman 2 turned out to be another stellar entry in the series then, something we’ll find out when this releases later this year.
Note: Hitman 2 will be released on November 13, 2018. Available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
