If one thing is clear, is that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was one of 2013’s best games, despite the fact it was more a pirate game with Assassins than the other way around… But thankfully French powerhouse Ubisoft has realised how popular the pirate-y stuff in that game was, and is now gearing up to release Skull and Bones next year, a game focused on naval combat and piracy in the 18th century Caribbean.

This will be a multiplayer-centric game, with 5 v 5 ship naval battles being the order of the day here, and players competing to plunder and raid as many enemy ships at possible. Despite the multiplayer focus though, Ubisoft has also confirmed this will have a narrative campaign and single player modes, so hopefully Skull and Bones will turn out to be a pirate game for everyone when it ships sometime next year.

Release date: TBA 2018.
