2. An open-world Star Wars game by Ubisoft
Famous for their Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry video game series, Ubisoft is going to make their Star Wars game a story-driven, open-world experience likely similar to what their top franchises offer. In charge of making this game will be Ubisoft studio Massive Entertainment, who are renowned for their post-apocalyptic online multiplayer games The Division and its sequel The Division 2.
Apparently, though, Ubisoft’s and Massive’s Star Wars game will focus on the single player, story-driven experience in an open-world setting like Assassin’s Creed does, delivering an original story and characters drawing from Star Wars lore. The company will also make the most of their “Snowdrop” engine, also used in The Division games. Ubisoft and Massive are also hard at work on another movie licensed game (Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora), but hopefully they will still be able to deliver a cutting-edge Star Wars game with engrossing gameplay in order to keep Star Wars fans happy when it arrives in 2022 or later.
