3. Quantic Dream’s Star Wars game

Although it seemed that Disney would only give the responsibility of making Star Wars games to Electronic Arts, it is now teaming up with renowned studios not linked to the EA juggernaut. Such is the case of Quantic Dream, a studio famous for games like Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human. Both these games let you control multiple characters throughout their cinematic stories, and also rely heavily on “quick time events” (QTEs for short).

Quantic Dream’s rumored Star Wars game will apparently be nothing like this, though. Seemingly the focus will be on action gameplay, there will be an open world setting, and multiplayer will be a thing too… Rumored to be called Star Wars Eclipse, the game will be set during the High Republic era of Star Wars. This is the setting of George Lucas’ prequel movies (although hopefully they’ll leave a character like Jar Jar Binks out of the picture). With the Empire yet to emerge and with Jedis having their grip on power, it remains to be seen what storyline Quantic Dream can come up with when their Star Wars game, which apparently has been almost two years in development now, sees the light of day.

Update: Star Wars Eclipse has been officially announced, see reveal trailer below.
