10 hot video games coming in the second half of 2026

3. The Blood of Dawnwalker

This medieval, dark fantasy role-playing game takes a page from The Witcher 3. This is not surprising taking into account that Polish studio Rebel Wolves is comprised of former CD Projekt developers, so players can expect a similar setting, characters and gameplay to that of the RPG classic.

However, the game’s protagonist Coen is no monster hunter like The Witcher 3’s protagonist Geralt. He’s a Dawnwalker, a half-man, half-vampire who is out to save his family in a 14th century Europe suffering from the Black Plague. What’s interesting is that Coen can turn into a vampire during the night, using his supernatural abilities to defeat foes, and also change into a wolf. He’ll resort to sword and magic like Geralt during the day, though. There’s also an interesting time element to the game, as every quest you do makes time move forward, meaning there could be some very significant, difficult choices during the game as players will simply not be able to do everything or save everyone from evil (Coen included). What’s clear, though, is that Blood of the Dawnwalker is a game Witcher fans will be looking forward to come early September, that’s for sure.

Release date: September 3, 2026. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
