4. Multiple control methods

Mouse and keyboard PC gamers won’t fear those holding a gamepad…

In the console world, when one wants to get down to the business of playing a game, they grab their gamepad, sit on the sofa and start playing. There’s also the option of using the Kinect or PlayStation Eye for sporty types, and that’s it. Most PC owners however, game on office chairs and control their games with mouse and keyboard. It seems Steam Machine owners will get the best of both worlds, being able to use gamepads, mouse and keyboard, and even motion sensing stuff like the Kinect.

This is both a blessing and a curse, and it mainly comes down to multiplayer gaming. You see, mouse and keyboard are way more precise than a gamepad. A PC gamer sitting on that office chair with Word open in the background will make short work of a user playing with a gamepad in a multiplayer match. So it’s going to be like David vs Goliath. It will be total annihilation for the gamepad wielding crowd, I am afraid.
