Ranking the Final Fantasy games from best to worst

2. Final Fantasy VII

Final fantasy VII was the first to make the jump to 3D, and its great gameplay still shines through.

Final Fantasy VII was one of the jewels of the PlayStation era, a title that brought role-playing games to the limelight and which quite a few people consider one of the best games ever made. The game was also one of the most visually stunning of the late 90’s, thanks to its gorgeous settings like the starting industrial complex, and the stunning spell effects and animations.

Of course, the game is no longer the looker it was back then, but its gameplay is still addicting due to its entertaining combat which let party members resort to “Limit Breaks”, desperation moves players could use in battle, adding an interesting twist to the proceedings. The story featuring protagonist Cloud Strife and other interesting characters sure was memorable too, making Final Fantasy VII one of the best in the series to date.
