Assassin’s Creed II was the high point of the series, in which ladies’ man Ezio Auditore gets even with the Templar conspirators who murdered his father and brothers. It all ends with a silly fistfight with the Pope in the Sistine Chapel though!

And while Renaissance Italy was a beautiful backdrop for the game, the game certainly needed a classical and epic musical score. And composer Jesper Kyd’s music more than delivers, with his choir setting a classical tone when needed and his synth providing more modern cues for those bits that took place in modern times and had you playing as the bartender Desmond.
