4. PlayStation 5 Pro price

Sony launched a PlayStation 5 Pro (PS5 Pro for short) console this year, a more powerful version of the PS5 console which came out back in 2020. A more capable graphics chip with support for advanced ray tracing was the highlight, even if the console’s price ($700 US dollars) left some people dumbstruck. Much more so taking into account that unlike the PS5 Slim model which launched last fall, the PS5 Pro does not include a blu-ray drive by default. No, this is an accessory which must be bought separately, bring the total cost closer to $800 US dollars.

In Sony’s defense, though, the company’s president Hiroki Totoki said that “hardcore users are the target of this hardware”, even if it’s clear that the PS5 Pro is quite an expensive piece of hardware, even more expensive than the old PS4 Pro, hence the controversy.
