Sony’s State of Play show took place in late January, with the Japanese company previewing some of the top upcoming PlayStation exclusives. There’s an Until Dawn remake in the works which will launch on PS5 but also on PC, while other games such as the Death Stranding sequel are looking great, and will likely be a timed exclusive on Sony’s platform. So without further ado, here follows a list of the top 5 games previewed at Sony’s State of Play 2024 show.

1. Death Stranding 2 On the Beach

Death Stranding was a weird game released 2019, born out of the mind of legendary Japanese designer Hideo Kojima. This featured babies in crystal pods and a bare-chested Norman Reedus, and was derided by some as a “walking simulator”. This is because the game mainly involved delivering packages across a post-apocalyptic US. It also featured former Bond girl Lea Seydoux, who played a character named Fragile. Seydoux can be seen in the sequel’s trailer below, performing some kind of autopsy in the game’s futuristic world…

Of course, Norman Reedus reprises his role of Sam Porter here, once again delivering packages to specific destinations in the game’s new Mexico setting. More interestingly, Troy Baker plays a villain named Higgs here, who uses a guitar-like weapon in one spectacular sequence later in the trailer. But no matter how great this looks, Death Stranding fans shouldn’t be holding their breath for the time being, as Death Stranding 2 On the Beach (to give it its full title) won’t be arriving until 2025.
