Fans of the Assassin’s Creed games were disappointed when Ubisoft announced that no new entry in the series would release in 2019. The French company did tease a new Assassin’s Creed game in The Division 2 last year, though. And the image above strongly suggests the new game will be about Vikings, while recent leaks have confirmed this setting, and also that the game will boast the biggest map ever in the series’ history, covering a big chunk of 9th century Europe.

Like 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, this will let players play as a male or female character, while this will also be the first Assassin’s Creed to feature cooperative multiplayer since Assassin’s Creed Unity. Add to this improvements to combat and stealth (and a rumoured release date in September) and it won’t be long before Assassin’s Creed fans are having a good time again no doubt.

Release date: Fall 2020
