8. Dragon Age: The Veilguard

The Dragon Age series has millions of players worldwide. And 2009’s Dragon Age: Origins is considered a classic by many, even if it was followed by a bland sequel in 2011. Then came Dragon Age: Inquisition, a good game which against all odds became Game of the Year. Expectations as you might imagine are sky high for this new game in the series, even if it’s been a long time coming.

BioWare is still a renowned studio, though, and despite the failure of their 2019 game Anthem, it looks like Dragon Age: The Veilguard could be a return to form for the Canadian outfit judging by the trailer below. In the game, you’ll lead a new party of heroes here including a necromancer named Emmrich and a dragon hunter named Taash (there will be dragons in Veilguard, of course), for another RPG adventure in the fantasy world of Thedas, and one which Dragon Age fans are hoping lives up to the hype this fall.

Release date: October 31, 2024. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
