Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the biggest games of 2020, and now it’s getting an expansion this year. Set in Dogtown, a “city within a city” according to game makers CD Projekt, this expansion taking place within the original game (and it does not require you to have finished Cyberpunk 2077 in order to play) feels more like a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 than anything else.

As seen in the trailer below, the stakes will be higher here as well: the president’s plane has crashed in the Night City district of Dogtown, and secret government agents have been called up to rescue her… Johnny Silverhand (a character played by Keanu Reeves) plays a role here as in the original game, plus another character played by actor Idris Elba will feature prominently in Phantom’s Liberty story too. Also engaging in first-person combat, infiltrating high-security buildings and dealing with unsavory characters in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty’s futuristic world will be the order of the day when this comes out this summer.

Release date: September 26, 2023. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
