9. Starfield

It’s been a long time in the making, but Starfield will be finally be arriving this year. And Bethesda’s role-playing game sure is one of the most eagerly anticipated games of all time. Some have taken to calling this “Skyrim in space”, something which may be accurate taking into account Bethesda has ditched the medieval fantasy setting of The Elder Scrolls games in favor of a sci-fi universe with this game.

As in earlier Bethesda games, there’s a main quest to follow which involves a space collective known as Constellation which is looking for mysterious space artefacts… Of course, in typical Bethesda fashion there will be plenty of side quests to take on and factions to join in Starfield’s universe. But the biggest draw here is planetary exploration, as there will be about 1,000 planets to explore in the game. These being too similar to each other is something of concern to players, although Bethesda has assured fans that the planets feature plenty of handcrafted content, meaning Starfield could be one hell of a space epic when it arrives in the second half of 2023.
