2. Alone in the Dark

Video game fans have been waiting for a remake of the original Alone in the Dark game for a very long time now. Actually, the classic original hit shelves back in 1992. It inspired other survival horror games like Resident Evil, so there’s no doubt its impact has been felt far and wide, even if more recent entries like Alone in the Dark: Illumination have been a disaster to say the least.

But now video game company THQ Nordic could finally deliver an Alone in the Dark game which does justice to the original when this remake arrives this fall. Featuring a mix of combat and puzzle solving, players take the role of either detective Edward Carnby of Emily Hartwood, with the game offering two distinct playthroughs with each character spanning more than a dozen hours of gameplay, taking place in the haunted Derceto manor. The thing is, will this live up to the original or not? First impressions are good judging by the trailer below, so hopefully this remake does live up to expectations when it releases in the second half of the year.

Release date: October 25, 2023. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
