4. Splatoon 2

The original Splatoon was one of 2015 best games, no doubt. With its paint-based weapons and characters who could turn into squids and swim in ink, this was one of the most original games to arrive on the Wii U, and a ton of fun when playing with friends or alone.

And thankfully that game will be getting a sequel this summer, as Splatoon 2 will be hitting shelves in late July, including new weapons and characters for single and multiplayer matches. Besides this, there are new special moves which will help you cover maps with ink and defeat the opposing team. Also, popular gameplay modes such as Hero Mode will be making a return in what could end up being one of the summer’s top video game releases.

Release date: July 21. Available on Nintendo Switch.
