2. Uncharted 4

It might be Nathan’s final adventure, but Uncharted 4 is still a cracking game from start to finish.

Some were saddened when it was revealed that Uncharted 4 would be Naughty Dog’s final game, and possibly the final game of the Uncharted series. Because these games have been some of the finest action-adventure titles to hit consoles in the last ten years, but thankfully protagonist Nathan Drake’s final adventure has been one of the best video games of 2016 no doubt.

Because not only did Uncharted 4 feature some of the best visuals yet seen on consoles, with its spectacular vistas, jungles and superb character models and settings, also the game’s story was powerful and moving at times, a tale of friendship and redemption amidst a search for a long-lost pirate treasure. And the superb third-person action did put many other games to shame this year, making Uncharted one of 2016’s biggest releases without a shadow of doubt.
