7. Far Cry (2004)
This is the game that started the Far Cry franchise. It was a PC game and had revolutionary graphics for its time. The beaches and jungles of the South Pacific islands on which the game took place truly seemed real. It also had extremely high difficulty, to the point that finishing the game on normal difficulty was an almost impossible task. Not only could the enemy mercenaries you were dealing with shoot you from a mile away, but later on you were dealing with mutated monstrosities known as trigens, that could kill you in two swipes. Hiding and waiting was not an effective tactic, as you had no regenerating health, so it truly was a case of kill or be killed…
HARDEST BIT:
The volcano level. Dr. Krieger’s secret laboratory was guarded by a small army, and you had to deal with so many elite mercenaries before you could get to the evil doc himself.
