3. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (2010)
Despite lacking the Tomb Raider name in the title, this game was still one of the best to star Lara Croft thanks to its great visuals, new isometric perspective and the addition of cooperative play to the series.
In the game, Lara inadvertently unleashes an angry demon after uncovering an ancient central American relic (hasn’t she done this a bit too many times already?) and later teams up with Totec, the titular Guardian of Light, in order to save the world.
But despite the poor plot (and rather cheesy dialog and voice acting) this game offered great environmental puzzles, treasures to collect, challenges and great arcade action that was even better in cooperative mode with a friend, and it’s clear that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light did this with style as it’s one of the best offerings in the series to date.
