9. Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (1999)
One thing that this fourth Tomb Raider game had going for it was its well-developed story based on Egyptian mythology. In the game, Lara inadvertently releases the evil Egyptian god Set into the world and must also face off against the cunning German doctor Von Croy in an adventure that took our busty protagonist to some beautifully realised locations like the Temple of Horus and Alexandria.
The game did have its faults though, like the slightly too familiar puzzles involving levers and switches and the fact that players had to go back to earlier levels to solve some of the more devious puzzles, and also the lack of enemies to gun down. But Lara’s new moves like the ability to swing on ropes and the souped-up graphics and sound did make this a decent entry in the series, though.
