2. Tomb Raider (2013)
This Tomb Raider reboot offered a great origin story for Lara Croft, and we got to witness her transformation from a frightened young woman to the intrepid ass-kicking adventurer we all know and love.
The game also focused more on action than earlier entries, offering a big assortment of weapons for players to play with (like the explosive arrows Lara gets to wreak havoc with in one level), even if there was less puzzle-solving and tomb raiding this time around…
Exploring was still a joy thanks to the game’s more open and beautifully designed environments though, and hunting for treasure was still fun as players could come across items that shed new light on the game’s mysterious island, adding to the sense of wonder and superb gameplay of this great Tomb Raider game.
