8. Resident Evil 5

This game was controversial, and not only due to its violence. The game is set in Africa and the protagonist Chris Redfield and his partner Sheva Alomar spend most of their time killing zombies who have dark skin. The game was labelled racist as a result, although its creator Jun Takeuchi has dismissed those claims.

Leaving the racism issue aside, Resident Evil 5 also features extremely violent action. Chris and Sheva deal with an army of zombies in a very gory manner – the mindless creatures can even be decapitated. But it is not only the zombies that are in for a world of hurt – at some point in the game Chris and Sheva have to deal with giant crocodiles that can kill our heroes in an extremely nasty way, to say the least…
