Nintendo got a reputation for releasing “hard” games for the NES console, and this surely is one of them. A boxing game that demands plenty of hand to eye coordination, sharp reflexes and timing to get through fights, it left plenty of gamers crying back in the 80’s. It also had the endorsement of “Kid Dynamite” Mike Tyson, who happens to be the final boss of the game. And it also featured Mario as the referee, which was a nice touch.

There was nothing nice about facing Iron Mike in this game, though, even after having dueled with tough as nails fighters like Super Macho Man and Piston Honda to get there. Actually, the final fight with Tyson is one of the hardest boss fights in any game ever. This is because Iron Mike could floor your character (Little Mac) with a single uppercut in the first 90 seconds of the match, making Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!! one of the most difficult games ever made.
