2. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

This year will see a sequel to Death Stranding, a game many will be looking forward to. This is because even if some derided Death Stranding as a “walking simulator”, the game did get solid reviews overall, being one of the most original games directed by Japanese ace Hideo Kojima. This sequel brings back actors Norman Reedus of the Walking Dead fame, former Bond girl Lea Seydoux and Troy Baker, who plays arch-villain Higgs. Also, the game will trade the original’s North American setting for Mexico and other locations.

Playing as Sam Porter (Norman Reedus) you once again get to deliver packages to different locations in the game’s open world, although it remains to be seen whether Death Stranding 2 will offer more and better combat than the first game did too… Also it will be interesting to see if Hideo Kojima and his team at Kojima Productions have expanded the original’s asynchronous multiplayer, something which surely many considered a highlight in the first game. As is typical with Kojima, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has already caused controversy – its collector’s edition won’t come with a physical disc (a sore point for many gamers) even if the PS5 trailer below does do great job of showing off the wondrous environments and characters in the game.
