5. Days Gone Remastered

Days Gone was a controversial game featuring zombies and a post-apocalyptic world to explore. Released in 2019, it sold millions of copies, had people clamoring for a sequel, but Sony didn’t consider it a hit, so there never was a Days Gone 2. But still, those who enjoyed playing as Deacon St. John (the game’s protagonist) or were looking to pick up the game will be happy to know a remaster is coming this year.

Launching on PS5, the game will feature higher quality visuals and 3D audio support on Sony’s console, as well as several new game modes. There’s “horde assault”, which involves taking down other human survivors and even larger hordes of “freakers” (the game’s version of zombies). Days Gone was famous for putting loads of zombies onscreen, but this remaster will feature even larger hordes of undead it seems… Asides from other game modes, there’s also an enhanced photo mode for players to enjoy. Plus, the new features will also be available on PC via DLC even if the remaster (which hopefully will be worth the price of admission) will be a PS5 exclusive when it arrives this May.

Release date: April 25, 2025. Available on PS5.
